Blow 3 Look up too

One person that I look up to is Derek Jeter. Derek Jeter is an excellent athlete and an even better person. When Derek grew up, he was faced with adversity while having a white mother and a black father. He was discriminated against and picked on while growing up in Michigan. Never once did Derek ever retaliate or fight back even though this bothered him. Growing up and in high school, Derek always stayed out of trouble and avoided alcohol and drugs. In the classroom, Derek always maintained high grades and was a leader. In professional baseball, Derek grew up and played with the Yankees as a young kid while the rest of the team was mature veterans towards who were towards the end of their careers. When being called up to this team, the club gave him the number 2 which was only given to players with great standards. As a rookie, Derek made an immediate impact with the team. Over the years, Derek has become the official captain of the New York Yankees. He has broken many records and has never hesitated to dedicate his body for the sake of the team. When post-season play comes around, Derek is known to be Mr. Clutch. Whenever big games have gotten close, Derek has always been the one to step up and make a big play in the critical situation. This is one of the biggest reasons why I look up to Derek. When the game is on the line, he is the one who his team turns too to make a play. Not to mention that Derek looks forward to this situations. This shows that he is a true competitor. I have taken this attitude to heart in that when difficult decisions arise, people look to you for answers and that you should want to be the one to make a play when the game is on the line. This is why I look up to Derek Jeter.
